What It's about
The Bane Of Shadows is a story about magic and sacrifices. By the events of the first book, the Magicians (Those who can use magic) are deemed criminals and are hunted down and killed. That's where Eirian Eld, the main character, steps in because it just so happens that she becomes a Magician. Knowing what will happen, she plans to flee, and a number of events happen after that. Through it, she learns more of the truth about the world she lives in, and what she'll have to sacrifice in order for it to go back to normal.
The Characters
For the Bane Of Shadows, there are a ton of diverse characters. But for right now here is just the main cast.
Eirian Eld:
Eirian is the main character of the first book, as she really is the Bane Of Shadows. She's a fairly headstrong kind of person, but that doesn't stop her from showing kindness to others. She also has an older sister named Melanie, who is a recurring antagonist in the story.
Luken Toivo:
Luken is Eirian's mentor, so he has to teach her everything about magic and the world. He's a little cold at first to Eirian, but after some time he actually opens up to her showing a kind-hearted side. There are some things he's not telling her about though.
Argos Urbina:
Argos is Luken's old friend, who has a very showman-like personality. He later helps Eirian in her journey, and even shakes the story up a bit. He has his own secrets too, but so does everyone. Besides that, he also has a pet falcon who's a messenger bird!
The World and The Magic System
The Map of the World:
The World of Ashmun is comprised of six different kingdoms.Dalelry: Which is rocky and full of natural lakes and bodies of water.Erikcliff: Which is full of mountains on its western coasts and rivers.Naporia: Which is mostly farming land where merchants and farmers live.Old Erikcliff: Which has a tropical climate and is made of mountains and forests.Ostmont: Which is always seems to be cold, making it hard to farm land on.The Capital: Which is the center of all kingdoms where the king lives.

Other Books
There are a couple of prequel books of The Bane Of Shadows that are planned and are on and are being worked on. They will vary from different perspectives and stories/tones.
The Luken and Argos Prequel Book
Currently, there is a prequel book planned and written that will be about Luken and Argos when they were kids. It will mainly focus on the perspective of Luken but will shift to Argos towards the other half of the story. It'll add more world-building, and explanation as to how Luken and Argos' friendship started. The main focus of this story is to show a huge contrast to Eirian's. For them when they were kids, they didn't have to struggle to survive and instead went to school to learn magic, which is a huge contrast to how Eirian lived.
The Prequel set right before the first book.
This story is barely worked on, but it will follow right after the fall of Sorcrey and after the Luken and Argos prequel book. It will follow a girl named Rene who's just now becoming a Magician in an even more brutal world than compared to Eirian's. She begins her journey with her family killed in an instance and having to find her mentor all by herself. When she does, her mentor, Mari, wants nothing to do with her. Along with that, she'll struggle with wanting revenge. This story will be way darker than the others.
The prequel about the start of Sorcrey.
As of right now, this book is just an idea, and might not even get written. It'll follow the rise of Magician's in a world full of wars and chaos. The main character helps make breakthroughs in magic, all while helping Magician's as a whole. He plans to make a kingdom for the Magician's, while also trying to get the other kingdoms to stop their constant wars against one another. By the end, all he wants happens, but is shadowed by the eventual fall of Sorcrey in the future. The main focus is to show the constant struggle to fight in what you believe in.
